The Second Mobile Treatment and Diagnostics Unit Has Been Launched in Armenia

The Russian Technical Assistance Programme to fight HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases in Eastern Europe and Central Asia countries

11 July the capital of Armenia saluted the launch of the second mobile diagnostic and treatment unit for HIV/AIDS and viral Hepatitis testing. Ivan Volynkin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia in Armenia participated in the Official Handover Ceremony. The unit was presented to the Republic of Armenia by the Russian Federation.

Armen Muradyan, the Minister of Health of Armenia, Irina Kostetskaya, Deputy Director of AIDS Infoshare Foundation and Samvel Grigoryan, Director of Republican AIDS Centre participated in the Ceremony.

In his welcome address, the Ambassador emphasized that many efforts have been taken not to limit the Assistance Programme to just one mobile unit.

“Two autos can cover more regions of Armenia, and I hope the Programme will proceed. This is very important and much needed process. We will continue to run the join projects for the benefit of Armenia, thus strengthening our bilingual relations, said Ivan Volynkin.
